Join Style412 in the Fashion Revolution
Join Style412 in participating in a global movement, Fashion Revolution (April 22 - 28), which calls for greater transparency, sustainability and ethics in the fashion industry.
During this week, Style412 will highlight local brands who align with this mission, calling for the Pittsburgh fashion community to also stop and ask #whomademyclothes?
Why?
As consumers and members within the second largest polluting industry in the world, it is our responsibility to create a better path forward — igniting a revolution to radically change the way our clothes are sourced, produced and purchased.
On April 24th, 2013, the Rana Plaza building in Bangladesh collapsed. 1,138 people died and another 2,500 were injured, making it the fourth largest industrial disaster in history. Today, both people and the environment continue to suffer as a result of the way fashion is made, sourced and consumed.
Demand Transparency.
We believe that more transparency, which demands greater accountability, is the first step towards positive change.
During this week, we encourage all to take a selfie showing your label asking the brand #whomademyclothes.
Shop Responsibly.
In Pittsburgh, we are so proud to highlight a growing list of eco-friendly brands who take measures to practice sustainability. By supporting brands who are working sustainably, we are not only applauding their actions, but doing our part to demand positive change as a consumer.
